Schools Work

At the SCYP our team is dedicated to the schools in Oldham and surrounding areas. The school we go into are North Chadderton, Blue Coat, Hathershaw, Crompton House, Royton & Crompton and Radclyffe. Each week we go into the schools and do a Lunch club, these lunch clubs are based on issues that the young people may be facing in their lives. The clubs are filled with fun, energetic games, prizes and much more. We also use the clubs as a great opportunity to plug our youth cafe.

We also do workshops in the schools; there are fewer young people that come to these classes. This gives us a great opportunity to get to know the young people on a more personal level, and discuss deeper issues with them. From time to time the school will ask us if we would like to do an assembly for different years, but mainly year 7 & 8s. We always think of a topic that will help them best in their school years and find fun games that will get them involved. After a game we do a small talk and then plug the clubs and youth cafe.
