Children’s rapes and murders, lynching, sexual exploitation, child labour, child marriage, child homicide, deaths from medical negligence and restricting girls’ freedom to outdoor spaces and not ensuring the safety of those already out there are some of the horrendous forms of cruelty.
We as adults cannot justify why children and young people suffer from cruelty, harm, abuse and neglect. How can we let children go through horrendous abuses and remain inactive? We have to stop cruelty now.
Lives of many children and young people cannot be marred with the memories of violence,
abuse and cruelty whether they are at homes or in open/closed public places.
Raising hands, harassing, beating children and young people to death,
and being aggressive is not heroic or justified in any shape or form.
Beating or lynching carried out by an individual or aggressive mob in any context
whatsoever should be considered as a grave crime.
We have to stop the violence now. It is everyone’s responsibility and duty.
We intend to remain brave in raising the issues important for children and young people’s wellbeing. We aim to break the taboos and remain determined to prevent cruelty and child abuse. We intend to remain attentive in our observation, campaigns and actions to ensure abuse is recognised and prevented.
Our priorities are Dekho, Bolo and Roko.
